Shadoxhurst Parish Council

How the Parish Council operates to serve the community

The Parish Council meets as a full council once a month and between meetings work is progressed by a number of Advisory Groups. These Groups are advisory to the full council and are operating under the auspices of the Parish Council. Each Group is led by a Parish Councillor and  includes a number of Parish Councillors plus members of the public where external expertise is appropriate. The Group Leader ensures that the Group adheres to the Terms of Reference. The full detail of these groups, their members and the Terms of Reference can be found here

The Parish Council Meeting dates for 2024 have recently changed and will now take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm in the Pavilion (except for May which is on Wednesday 8th May).

The  Parish  Council  AGM  is  on Wednesday 8th May  at  6.30pm  at the  Pavilion.

Our Transparency Code Information & Documents

The Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 sets out a new audit framework for local public authorities which were previously covered by the Audit Commission regime. Under this new framework, parish councils with an annual turnover not exceeding £25,000 will be exempt from routine external audit. Instead, these parish councils are required to publish key information to the public under the Transparency Code.
