Congratulations to the Shadoxhurst Church Flower
Ladies. A small group of village ladies who give their expertise
and time to keep our church clean and decorated with flowers.
The floral arrangements for St Peter & St Paul Church open weekend
in June were superb. The church looked beautiful.
Plans for this event started earlier in the year with the ladies
raising money for the flowers. This was done by means of a coffee
morning and by generous donations of money. Thanks to the Recreation
Committee, village businesses and villagers.
The Phil Sibbald & Friends Musical Evening on the Saturday was
organised by the Friends of the Churches and was well supported.
It was lovely to sit in our beautiful, clean & decorated church
listening to the music and breathing in the heady scent of the floral
arrangements.
This was a cleverly arranged musical evening with something for
everyone, delivered with wit and humour. The interval gave time
to see the floral arrangements up close and have a chat with friends
and neighbours.
The friendly and relaxing evening gave time to reflect, in this
21st century, 24hr world, about what really counts, family, friends
and community spirit. The generous giving of time and effort by
a handful of individuals, so we can continue to enjoy our heritage.
