Village Walks
Walks around the footpaths in the village or elsewhere in East Kent take place on the third Sunday of each Month.
Most walks start (and usually stop) at the Village Hall.
We usually walk about 4 or 5 miles - but we do sometimes have longer walks.
We are an "older" group so we tend to walk at an average speed near to 2 or 2 1/2 miles an hour.
We always take one dog and often three or four, if we don't start the walk from the Village Hall then we will always offer other walkers a lift to the start point in one of our cars.
We had a lovely canal bank and lanes walk in March, the best weather for a Spring walk (well actually the last days of winter) I think we have ever had. In April we walked through fields and woods in the Hothfield area to see the masses of spring flowers.
Our May walk started in Little Chart, along the byways and lanes round Egerton along the Greensand Ridge to reach Pluckley and back through the orchards to Little Chart, we had a few showers but mostly the weather was kind to us (if you dont mind wind).
Next Walk
July 19th. We have planned a circular walk of 5 miles or so in Godinton Park, we will meet at the Village Hall as usual but take cars and park in Great Chart.
All distances are approximate.
Call Rosslyn on 732747 for details.

If you fancy a walk somewhere else in Kent - try this link www.walkinginkent.co.uk it is definitely worth a look.
We are building up a list of walks for others to enjoy - click this link Walks around Shadoxhurst.
We asked the walkers to line up for a picture and they split into two groups. One group was our regulars from Shadoxhurst and the others were a visiting group. It should be obvious which group is the visitors.
