     Internal Audit

Following on from the recent Internal Audit the Risk Assessment was emailed to all

councillors.  See Risk Assessment/Risk Inspection/ROSPA Report.

Mr Funnell advised the Council to Increase the Fidelity Guarantee to £25,000.  He also

advised that the Village Hall and Pavilion should be professionally valued every 3-4 years.

The Clerk was concerned that the Insurance Company are very behind with their work and proposed that we should write a letter detailing our insurance requirements as she had telephoned and left messages with employees in the call centre but had not heard back from an advisor.

It was agreed to ask how much the premium will increase by if we increase the Fidelity

Guarantee to £25,000 and the Public Liability to £10,000,000.

The cover on the Bus Shelter is to be increased to £10,000 and on the Play Equipment to

£21,000.

From February 2009 this Council will no longer insure equipment on behalf of organisations who hire the hall.  Shadoxhurst Recreation Committee will write to all the organisations and tell them that they must ensure that their equipment is adequately insured.

     Litter Picker

Following on from the Internal Auditor’s Inspection, we are unable to pay Mr Howe a

salary for Litter Picking, but we can give him the title of Parish Councillor with Special

Responsibility for Roadsweeping, Litter and Refuse for which we can grant him an allowance.

Resolution: Councillors unanimously agreed to Mr Howe being Parish Councillor

with Special Responsibility for the Roadsweeping, Litter and Refuse and

agreed to grant him an allowance of £600 for the year 2008-2009.
