  6.    CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Mr Hollands reported that he attended the Parish Forum with Mr Buss.  The main agenda

item was 106 agreements.  If a developer builds more than 20 houses on a site, he has

to donate a sum of money to the community for their use.  The amount of money that

a developer is required to give is increasing and is now a major overhead.  Mr Hollands

pointed out that this money is added to the cost of the houses built and is a reason for the

increase in the price of new houses.

The question of village envelopes was raised and basically there is no set boundary for

development in village.  If a parish noted in their wish list that they do not want

the village to expand beyond a certain point the planners will sometimes take this into account.
