of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held at The Village
Hall, Shadoxhurst

1.
APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
An Apology for Absence has been received from Miss Smith, who had a prior commitment,
from Mr Buss and Mr Clark, both due to illness and from Borough Councillors Davison and Hicks who were both attending the Planning Committee meeting at ABC.
2.
DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Mrs Hawkes, Mr Howe and Mr Pilton declared an interest in matters pertaining to the Recreation Committee.
Mr Hollands declared an interest in Planning Application No 07/01928 as it affects his property.

Updating of Declarations of Interest for the
Code of Conduct
The Clerk reminded Councillors that they should update their Declarations of Interest
with the Monitoring Officer if necessary.

ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES
Minutes 294 of the previous meeting were accepted and it was unanimously agreed that

MATTERS ARISING
The Clerk reported that she had spoken with
Mr Lloyd regarding the antisocial behaviour in Nairne Close and that he had
told her that all incidents need to be reported directly to our
Community Police Officer.

The balance stands at £18821.36 in the Treasurers Account and £3530 in the
Current Account.
The Clerk confirmed that, after discussion with Mr Hollands, she had transferred
£9852.61 from the Treasurers Account, to the Current Account as Earmarked Funds.

Resolution:
Councillors unanimously agreed to pay the above accounts.
Budget
and Precept 2008/2009
After discussion the budget was set at £11150, but due to the fact that we did not spend the
Contingency Fund last year, it was agreed to leave the precept at £11190.
It was also agreed that the remaining £250, left from the money earmarked for
Village Hall Painting should be transferred to Youth Recreation Facilities.

Salary
Mr Hollands proposed increasing the Clerks Salary to £8.234/hour, backdated to
April 2007.

Shelters
The Clerk was asked to send for some brochures for bus shelters.
New Play
Equipment
Mr Pilton is in the process of meeting with representatives from the manufacturers of
play equipment to discuss the addition of some new items to the play area.
Draining
the Recreation Field
Nothing to report.
Risk
Assessment/Risk Inspection
Everything that was listed on the ROSPA Report has been dealt with.
Newsletter
The next edition is due in January.
Crime and Disorder
Nothing to Report.

INTERVAL
There were no Members of the Public present at the meeting.

9. AFFORDABLE RURAL HOUSING/DEVELOPMENT IN
SHADOXHURST
The Clerk reported that she had sent the
letter to go with the questionnaire to Mr Hall
at AwCRK. He will contact us in the New Year.
10. OUTSIDE REPORTS
Recreation Committee
Nothing to report.
Tree Warden
Two trees have been removed from the Fairways site.
The Oak on The Green has died and Mr Hollands has arranged to replace it with an Alder.

Neither Councillor was able to attend the meeting but Councillor Hicks sent a report.
This was read out to Councillors and is attached to the file copy of the minutes.

There were no Matters Arising.

Mr Hollands said he would
arrange to move the remaining planter from The Green.

Mr Howe and Mr Pilton are to look at securing the litter bin next to the Farley Close
bus shelter.
