of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held at The Village Hall, Shadoxhurst
on
PRESENT: Mr W Hollands (Chair), Mrs L Holmans (after co-option),
Miss M Smith, Mr R Buss, Mr B Howe and Mr A Pilton

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC: There was one Members of the Public present for part of the meeting.
1.
APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
An Apology for Absence was received from Mr H Clark (prior engagement),
Borough Councillor Hicks, Borough Councillor Davison and County Councillor Angell.
2.
DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Mr Buss, Mr Howe and Mr Pilton declared a personal interest in matters pertaining to
Shadoxhurst Recreation Committee.

Updating of Declarations of Interest for the
Code of Conduct
The Clerk reminded Councillors that they should update their Declarations of Interest
with the Monitoring Officer if
necessary.
3.
ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes 314 of the previous meeting were accepted and it was unanimously agreed that
Mr Hollands should sign them.

5.
RISK
ASSESSMENT/RISK INSPECTION
The fire extinguishers have been replaced in the Pavilion.
Future Scholars gave Mr Pilton a list of items that they would like dealt with, following an
inspection. It was agreed that Mr Pilton should ask them to write in and officially ask
for the work to be undertaken.

Resolution: Councillors unanimously agreed to pay the
above accounts.
Insurance
The Clerk informed Councillors that she had contacted Came & Co regarding the
Bonfire. They have asked for a Risk Assessment. Mr Pilton confirmed that this
has been done and said he would arrange for a copy to be sent to the Clerk, to be
forwarded on.

Newsletter
The next newsletter is due out in the Autumn.
It was agreed to contact Mrs Brady and ask her to emphasize the fact that
this is a Parish Council publication and to make the contact details for the
Parish Council clear.
Crime
and Disorder
Nothing to report.
Appearance of Village
The Air Ambulance has put their textile bin in the Village Hall car park.
Village
Hall Heaters
Mr Pilton proposed, on behalf of the
Recreation Committee, that 7 heaters should be changed at a total cost of
£1431. A quote, giving two possible
prices was received from
Ashford Electrical Services. The Recreation Committee were unsuccessful in
obtaining more than this one quote although they have contacted other local
firms
As the cost is over £1000, we should have
obtained 2 quotes, however after discussion, the following was agreed:-

of the Parish Council unanimously agreed to accept the estimate to replace the
Village Hall Heaters from Ashford Electrical Services, as the Recreation
Committee had been unable to obtain other quotes

External
Repairs to Village Hall
The repairs are in hand.
OK to
Play Sign
Councillors unanimously agreed not to proceed
with our request for a sign as we do not
meet the criteria. The Clerk will inform ABC
Allocation
of 1 Farley Close
We received a request from Hyde Housing to
verify an applicants connection with the village. As Hyde Housing could not wait until after
this meeting Mr Hollands reported
that he had spoken to them and verified the connection.
Concern was expressed that the applicants
details were sent to the Village Websites email address. The Clerk will send a list of councillors who
should be contacted in future to Hyde Housing and ask them not to contact
anyone who is not on the list.

It was agreed that we should ask Mr Brady to
emphasis the fact that this is a Village Website and to make the contact
details for the Parish Council very clear.

8. PLANNING
Please see attached list.
Shadoxhurst Garage
Mr Lilley was in attendance at the meeting and during the Public Interval he explained his
proposal for the garage site. In principle Councillors were in favour of the proposal,
although they were unable to categorically state that they would support the application as
they have not seen the full planning application. Mr Holland said he would contact our
Borough Councillors and discuss this with them.

Recreation Committee
Nothing to report.
i. Letting Rules
The members of the Recreation Committee are to review the Letting Rules
at their
next
meeting. They will forward an updated
set to the Parish Council.
Tree Warden
Nothing new to report.
Borough
Councillors Report
Mrs Hicks and Mr
Davison were not at the meeting.
Councillor Angell was unable to attend this meeting.
Footpaths
Concern was expressed that
members of the public are being accosted by a local property
owner when they are walking
in the vicinity of
