Minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held at The Village Hall, Shadoxhurst

on Wednesday, 14 April 2010 at 7.30 pm

1.        APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

An Apology for Absence was received from Mr H Clark (prior engagement),

Borough Councillor Mr P Davison and County Councillor Mr M Angell

 

2.        DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

M Buss and Mr Howe declared a personal interest in matters pertaining to

Shadoxhurst Recreation Committee.

 

i)    Updating of Declarations of Interest for the Code of Conduct

              Councillors are reminded that they should update their Declarations of Interest with

              the Monitoring Officer if necessary.

 

3.        DISCUSSION WITH REPRESENTATIVE OF COMMUNITY PAYBACK

The Representative was not at the meeting.

 

4.        PUBLIC INTERVAL

The meeting was open to the Members of the Public present from 7.35 – 7.45 for

questions and comment.

 

5.        ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING      

 Minutes 322 of the previous meeting were accepted and it was unanimously agreed

 that Mr Hollands should sign them.

6.        MATTERS FOR REPORT ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MINUTES

7.        CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

 Mr Hollands reported that he would be attending the next meeting of Kingsnorth and 

 Shadoxhurst PCC to discuss the future of Shadoxhurst Church.

 

 Mr Hollands reported that he had spoken to the owners of The Old School House regarding

 the fact that they encroach on the Village Green and asked them to refrain from doing so.

A letter of confirmation will be sent.

 

 A complaint has been received from the owners of a neighbouring property that children  

 Playing  ball games in the Village Hall Car Park are kicking their balls into his garden and

 he has had 5 panes of glass broken in his greenhouse.  Councillors agreed to put up a

 “No Ball Games” sign.

 

 The same gentleman queried the amount of clutter left behind the hall by Future Scholars. 

 Mr Howe will ask them to clear the area.

A Councillor reported that they had witnessed a hit and run accident outside of

Stubbs Cross Post Office.

Nothing to report.

 

Bus Shelter

The damaged bus shelter has been removed and the new one should be in place by the end of April. The Clerk was asked to contact Queensbury Shelters and ask for an exact date for installation.

         Recreation Committee     

          The Recreation Committee have not had a meeting.

 

         Concern was expressed that there might not be a bonfire event due to lack of an organiser.

         Nothing to report.

 

         Borough Councillors Report

     Neither Councillor was able to attend the meeting.

 

         County Councillors Report  

         Councillor Angell was not at the meeting.

 

         Footpaths

         Nothing to report.

 

         An email from Borough Councillor Hicks to KCC was read out regarding by ways.

 

12.    VILLAGE RESPONSIBILITIES

         Matters Arising from the Round Robin

         There were no Matters Arising.

 

         Items to be reported to the County Lengthsmen

         The Clerk was asked to contact Kent Highway Services and thank them for resurfacing

         Woodchurch Road.  

 

13.    FORUM FOR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION BETWEEN COUNCILLORS          

         There being no other business the meeting closed at 9.15 pm.
